Itasca-Mantrap Education Scholarship
Our communities are powered by the people who live here. That’s why we support local students with scholarships that help them pursue their goals and stay connected to their hometowns. These opportunities encourage learning, leadership and growth. Investing in students today helps build a stronger community tomorrow.
The scholarships are funded through unclaimed capital credits. Minnesota state law allows electric cooperatives to use unclaimed capital credits that remain uncashed for seven years for charitable or educational purposes. This year, Itasca-Mantrap is offering up to five $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors attending a school in our service territory or adults returning to school who are Itasca-Mantrap members or dependents of members.
Students from the following school districts are eligible to apply:
• Park Rapids
• Nevis
• Menahga
• Walker
• Homeschooled students within the cooperative’s service area
The cooperative has established eligibility guidelines so that these funds remain focused on the communities within our service territory.
Scholarship applications must be received no later than March 31.
Applications can be submitted to scholarships@itasca-mantrap.com or mailed to Itasca-Mantrap Attn: Scholarships, PO Box 192 Park Rapids, MN 56470 by March 31.
