Itasca-Mantrap crews worked through the night, weekends, and unsightly weather conditions to restore power to our members affected by the major storms that swept through the Itasca-Mantrap area in May and June.

May

The severe afternoon storms on Monday, May 30 caused widespread outages across our service territory. Throughout the entire weekend we had approximately 2,800 members out of power. Our crews worked tirelessly out in the field to restore our members’ power. The storm damage caused broken lines and seven broken poles which can make for slow and careful restoration work for our crews.

On Tuesday, May 31 crews had restored power for many members without lights on. We had about 340 members without power. Crews had all members back up and running by 3 PM on Wednesday, June 1.

June

Late at night on June 24, a severe storm caused power outages to about 1,500 members. The high winds caused some trees to fall on lines, breaking a few poles. In total we had about seven broken poles. Our crews worked over the weekend to ensure our members’ power was restored and replacing broken poles. By Sunday, June 26, all of our members had their power back.

When our area experiences stormy weather, be assured that the team at Itasca-Mantrap Co-op Electrical Ass’n. is working hard to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. We thank you for your patience and appreciate your positive feedback during these challenging events. Our mission is to serve our members. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve you!
