The Youth Tour 2024

Each year Itasca-Mantrap sponsors one area high school student to attend an unforgettable all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. Apply today! This contest is open to sophomores and juniors whose family is a member of Itasca-Mantrap Electric Cooperative.

One local student will join over 1,400 students from across the United States in Washington, D.C. to learn more about our nation’s history, see American government in action and tour famous historical monuments. Students have an opportunity to meet and ask questions of their legislators and learn more about the importance of electric cooperatives.

To be eligible for a chance to win, students must complete an application. Finalists will be selected and then be interviewed before a selection is made. Applications are available below, at our office, or from your high school counselor. Call our office for more information and questions regarding the process for Youth Tour!

Youth Tour Testimonials:

2022 Itasca-Mantrap Youth Tour Delegate Jacob Lof reflecting on his time spent on the Youth Tour, said, “I’m so thankful for the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C.! It’s incredible to see all of the buildings, monuments, and memorials in person. One great part about the trip that I didn’t expect was the people and the relationships I formed there. I met so many great people from everywhere and made some lifelong friends, as well as some lifelong memories. I learned so much about our country, and the electric co-ops like Itasca-Mantrap that keep it running. Thank you, Itasca-Mantrap!”
